Getting started

This page takes you from the download to a HUD on your stream.

What you need

  • A Windows 10 or 11 PC, 64-bit.
  • Counter-Strike 2, installed with Steam.
  • A MyHUD account. You can try MyHUD free for 48 hours, without a credit card.

1. Install MyHUD

  1. Download MyHUD from myhud.app.
  2. Run the installer. MyHUD starts when the installation is complete.

MyHUD looks for updates each time it starts, and installs them by itself.

2. Create your account

  1. Click Create an account.
  2. Enter your email, a password and a nickname. The Twitch handle is optional: Auto Clips uses it.
  3. Click Register.

Already a MyHUD user?

If you had an account or a subscription before, register with the same email. MyHUD gets your account back.

Your license works on one PC. When you sign in on a new PC, MyHUD asks you to move the license to it. See Account and subscription.

3. Check the connection to CS2

When you sign in, MyHUD finds CS2 through Steam and copies its configuration files into the game folder (game\core\cfg). You have nothing to do.

The home page shows two checks:

CheckMeaning
SERVER RUNNINGMyHUD is ready to receive the game data.
CONFIG FILESThe configuration files are in the CS2 folder.

If a check has a cross, read the message below it. See also Troubleshooting.

WARNING

CS2 reads these files only when it starts. If CS2 was open during the first sign-in, restart it.

4. Join the match in CS2

  1. Start CS2 in Windowed or Fullscreen Windowed mode. The MyHUD overlay cannot show above a game in exclusive fullscreen.

  2. Open the match in one of these ways:

    • Demo: play a demo file.
    • Spectator: join the server in a spectator slot (observer or caster).
    • GOTV / CSTV: connect to the GOTV relay of the match.
  3. Open the developer console and type:

    exec myhud

This command hides the HUD of CS2 (only the kill feed stays) and loads the MyHUD settings. Run it again each time you start CS2.

TIP

MyHUD needs the data of all the players. CS2 sends it only in these three cases. As a player in the match, the HUD cannot work.

5. Show the HUD

Choose one of the two methods.

Overlay window

Click OPEN HUD on the home page, or press Shift+W (the default shortcut, see Default shortcuts).

The HUD opens in a transparent window above the game. In OBS, add a Window Capture source and select the window MYHUD — CS2 HUD Overlay (Capture this).

To choose the screen of the overlay, go to OPTIONS > Personalization > HUD Display.

OBS browser source

  1. Click Copy web source on the home page. MyHUD copies http://localhost:36364/hud.
  2. In OBS, add a Browser source with this URL, at 1920 × 1080.

MyHUD must stay open while you stream: the browser source gets its data from the app.

Until you join a server, the HUD shows a waiting screen. It disappears when the game data arrives.
